The attack occurred at the Simta pub on Dizengoff 122, near the corner of Gordon St. One of people killed was identified as Alon Bakal, a manager at the pub.
Israel said majority were attacking or attempting to attack Israelis.
The attacker, who some eyewitnesses described as a young man, fired at a crowded bar on Dizengoff street with an assault rifle, Israeli media reported.
As of December 23, 2015, at least 21 Israelis have been slain, the majority in stabbings and shootings committed by Palestinians, the BBC reported. He said security agencies had bolstered forces in “relevant areas” but gave no further details. Two Israelis were killed and eight were wounded in the attack. The footage then shows the man walking toward the entrance of the store, placing his backpack on a shopping cart and taking a gun out of it. He then steps outside and starts shooting, after which he runs away.
Until now, most residents of Tel Aviv have felt that terror takes place somewhere else.
Micky Rosenfeld, a spokesman for the Tel Aviv police department, told BBC News: “It’s not clear what the background of the incident is, if it’s a terrorist attack or if it’s criminal-related”.
Patrons at the pub and cafe were targeted, and the sidewalk was strewn with chairs and broken glass as police forensic officers examined the scene.
Local Arabic-language media reports said that Milhem, who did a stint in Israeli prison in 2006, was identified when his father called and informed police after seeing him on television.
“This man is not sane, to the best of my knowledge since I represented him”, Melhem said.
Palestinian officials, meanwhile, have claimed Israeli authorities have repeatedly gone too far, saying that Israeli forces killed more than 80 Palestinians in the same period, a figure that includes protesters who died in clashes, as well as alleged attacks.

Israel has seen a wave of Palestinian street attacks since October, fuelled in part by Muslim anger over stepped-up Jewish visits to Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa mosque complex, also sacred to Jews, as well as the lack of any progress in peace talks.
