Brazilian Telles is expected to command a fee lower than Baba and the Daily Mail reports that Chelsea have already made an enquiry to the Turkish side over his availability this summer.

Alex Telles joined Galatasaray from Gremio in 2013.

But at just 22, Telles would likely be more open to filling the back-up role than Luis-who turns 30 in August-and bide his time as he fights for his place.

Chelsea are in the market for a left-back after selling Filipe Luis back to Atletico Madrid, and Telles has reportedly emerged as the Blues’ priority target due to Augsburg’s asking price for Abdul Baba Rahman.

The Brazilian signed for Galatasaray in January 2014 and established himself as the club’s first-choice left-back in the second half of last season, making 36 appearances in all competitions.

Unsurprisingly, the 22-year-old is an attack-minded full-back who’s also capable of playing as a wing-back of left midfielder, but I suspect he’ll predominantly be viewed as back-up to Azpilicueta if he does end up moving to Chelsea.

Having an Italian passport does nothing for Telles in England, except guaranteeing that the player won’t have work permit issues.
