Temperatures and snow to fall Tuesday night

As temperatures rocket into the mid- 50s, fans at high school football games will be able to leave a sweater or two at home while they enjoy partially sunny skies.

Monday, the sun returns and so do southwest winds which will push highs to slightly warmer than normal levels; in the mid-50s. South southwest wind 11 to 15 miles per hour.

Combine those temps with a lot of warm moist air and the stage is set for periods of heavy rain becoming mixed or changing to freezing rain and sleet.

Snow melting temperatures the next couple of days with highs in low 40s today and upper 40s for Wednesday! New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Rain chances continue, with overnight low temperatures around 50 degrees. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23.

Due to a south breeze, lows will not be as cold tonight, dropping to the upper 30s to lower 20s under mostly clear skies.

There is no chance for rain Thanksgiving.

This Thursday night’s forecast low of 51 could threaten the record for warmest low temperature on Thanksgiving.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny, with some puffy clouds as a result of lake effect snow downwind of the Great Lakes. Right now, a few showers are possible Friday night. At this point, it does look like we’ll see some rain over North Mississippi Saturday. In fact, most areas in WAVE Country will likely stay dry until Friday evening.

Next week starts off sunny and chilly and then by late Tuesday into Wednesday, our next chance for rain arrives – and this time it may be more than just passing showers.
