One million dollars – that’s the total restitution received by 10 victims of former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle.

Prosecutors say it’s rare for someone to pay restitution first. Each signed a form saying they had received the money and that it’s meant to benefit that particular victim.
As part of a plea deal, prosecutors have agreed to ask for a prison term of no more than 12.5 years, but a judge will ultimately decide his sentence at the November hearing.
Fogle became the face of the popular sandwich chain after losing 200 pounds on what he called “The Subway Diet”.
Acts mentioned in Fogle’s plea agreement include traveling to New York City and paying a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old for sex at the Plaza Hotel and the Ritz Carlton Hotel between 2010 and 2013.
This comes four months after authorities raided Fogle’s home in Zionsville just after Russell Taylor, the former executive director of the Jared Foundation, which Fogle started to raise awareness to and combat childhood obesity, was arrested on federal child pornography charges.
The victims are allowed to use the funds without any restrictions.
Similar payments of $100,000 each are in progress under an August deal in which Fogle agreed to plead guilty.

That money will pay for mental health counseling, medical care and other needs the 14 victims might have now or in the future to help them recover from the trauma. “It’s a very chilling prospect”, she said.
