TBI spokesman Josh Devine said this was the first TBI agents who has ever died in the line of duty.

A special agent with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was shot and killed Tuesday in Jackson, Tennessee, about two hours west of Nashville.

Previously, he served with the Millington Police Department as an officer and on the DEA Task Force.

Frazier was posing as a drug customer in an SUV Tuesday afternoon before the shooting.. At that time, the suspect pulled out a gun and attempted to rob Agent Frazier and the informant.

Gwyn said Frazier was being watched during the setup, and was one of several agents present at the time.

The subject was later caught a short distance away and was taken into custody.

Charges are pending, and TBI Director Mark Gwyn says those charges will likely amount to murder.

Jackson resident Candice Washington, 34, said she heard about four shots and fell to the floor in her kitchen.
