Teresa Halbach’s Family: ‘Making a Murderer’ Is ‘Terrible’

And on Tuesday, Walker posted a link to the unanimous Court of Appeals decision on Avery’s case, indicating he wasn’t about to break his no-pardon streak.

Avery had sued Manitowoc County for tens of millions before he and nephew, Brendan Dassey, were arrested for Ms Halbach’s death.

A representative from attorney Kathleen Zellner’s office in Downers Grove, Illinois says Zellner met with Avery on Monday.

Dassy, now 26, is currently convicted on three charges and is serving his sentence at the Green Bay Correctional Facility in Green Bay, Wisconsin, according to Bustle.

Avery had previously spent 18 years in prison for sexual assault and attempted murder, but was later exonerated for that crime.

If that wasn’t clear enough, over the weekend, Walker appeared on the Green Bay news program Newsmaker Sunday, (via Raw Story) to say explicitly that Avery would remain in prison as long as he was governor. Sellen said that pursuant to Wis. Supreme Court Rule 22.40, he could not confirm, nor deny whether or not Aquino was under investigation. Wisconsin attorney Tricia Bushnell will help with the case. Tissue and bone fragments that matched Halbach’s DNA profile were found outside Avery’s mobile home.

The 10-part series has prompted watchers across the nation to flood message boards and Twitter feeds, even prompting a response from the White House.

The pair have filed a number of motions to dismiss Avery’s previous trial, both on the basis of possible jury tampering and inappropriate police involvement in the case. Others argue that the prosecution acted wrongfully during Dassey’s interrogation process, particularly taking issue with the fact that no lawyer was present at the time of Dassey’s interrogation.

Brad Dassey’s They Didn’t Do It features lines such as: “Kid’s just innocent / was only 16, tryna set him free / He’s not guilty, there’s no way in hell / Corruption made him fall, lose it all”. At the moment, there are petitions demanding for his pardon, along with charged accomplice, Brendan Dassey, as there are allegations that the case was framed by the Manitowoc County.
