However, they do tend to offer up brand new footage, and a glimpse of that – focusing specifically on the Millennium Falcon which was built on the United Kingdom set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens – can be seen here.

Big fans… Ashley and Danie Fleetwood loved Star Wars.

On Wednesday November 4, Fleetwood saw an unedited version of the movie at home, after receiving a phone call from director JJ Abrams.

Ashley Fleetwood’s public Facebook feed is filled with pictures and videos of “Force for Daniel” memes, handwritten letters and even t-shirts sent by strangers who had heard his story. “He will always be my idol and my hero”, she wrote.

“His wife, Ashley Fleetwood, took to social media in an attempt to get her husband his wish to see the movie”. A devoted fan of the science fiction series, Fleetwood was granted his dying wish of seeing the film. “Thanks to the powers-that-be for making his dream come true”, tweeted Hamill.

The Star Wars superfan from Texas was suffering from terminal cancer and was afraid he would die before the film’s scheduled December release date.

Thankfully (at least, we’re hoping thankfully because we haven’t seen the film yet…), Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy persuaded him to reconsider.

Fleetwood had been a fan since seeing the early films as a child with his father.

On Friday, fresh clips from “The Force Awakens” were released online in a trailer that was available on the Japanese version of the official Star Wars website. “Grieve, I will not”, one supporter wrote on Reddit.
