A source later told the newspaper the divorce was granted in Chicago.
Howard again lost his composure during cross-examination by Ghent’s attorney, who questioned the actor about domestic violence allegations.
He and Pak appeared to be on good terms last week when the model and restauranteur joined him in court for moral support, chatted with him in the hallway and left with his entourage through a security exit.
In the 2011 conversation, Ghent is heard telling Howard, “I will (expletive) bury you deep within the ground”. “It’s completely against my spirit, but I’m so heartbroken, that you can see that doing it on a night like this is only for an attempt to try and hurt me”.
The information about Howard’s most recent divorce became public during the closing arguments of a separate court proceeding relating to his second wife Michelle Ghent on Monday, August 17.
Ghent claims his phone call – and the emotion expressed within – is evidence that she had not extorted him a year previously.
Howard testified last week that Ghent forced him to sign their 2012 divorce settlement under duress. Superior Court Judge Thomas Trent Lewis told attorneys Ghent would not be allowed to testify because her lawyers hadn’t submitted a sworn declaration from her.
Howard contends Ghent repeatedly threatened to sell or leak personal details, including phone sex calls and a video of him dancing naked in the bathroom, if he didn’t give her a favorable divorce settlement.
The couple’s son, Qirin Love was born in May, and despite the fact that Howard claimed to be doing his share of baby night duty, Pak says in divorce papers that she and the 46-year-old actor had been living separately since August 2014.

Howard also confessed to having had a sexually transmitted disease, but insisted he wasn’t sure if he passed the virus on to her or vice versa, and then revealed he was so desperate to end the relationship with Ghent in 2009, he lied about wanting to take his own life by “pretending to swallow a bottle” of Valtrex pills, medication prescribed to treat herpes.
