“Keep promoting what we did in the last half an hour (at Chelsea), keep showing the players what they achieved in the last half hour and say “Half an hour’s all right but it’s 90 minutes you’ve got to do this for”, said Allardyce.
‘The manager is not on the pitch, it is the players, so we lose the games and the thing we can change in the future is ourselves.
Chelsea are still just three points off the relegation zone despite their victory, with skipper John Terry backing Hiddink to lift the side up the table quickly. “We are not hiding away from that fact”, said Terry.
We thank him for all that he has done. “What he will bring is a hunger to the squad, a lot of passion and a lot of fire”. I’ve been here before and seen it before. That’s why the club has made this decision. “Cesc is a top player, a very good character in the team, he is a victor and it is good he plays for us”. “Obviously, the results (wins) that we’ve achieved have all been (underpinned) by three clean sheets”.
Terry feels there is still hope for his team, who are 11 points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham in what has been an unpredictable campaign.
Holland believes the Portuguese would find a job sooner rather than later, saying: “Firstly, because there will be big clubs that want him and secondly because I think he’s a guy who needs and wants football and he’s not the sort of guy who’s going to spend eight months at home doing nothing”. We will take it step by step. But step by step – there’s a lot of games over Christmas; if we can go on a good run and climb the table over Christmas, then who knows?

They also repeatedly chanted in support of Mourinho and unveiled a banner saying: “You let Jose down, you let us down”.
