Terry keen to prolong Chelsea stay
The 35-year-old last week said that he hadn’t been offered a new deal despite his current one ending in the summer. There’s no communication between myself and the club at the minute.

John Terry still harbours hope of remaining at Chelsea, despite revealing there is no communication between himself and the club over an extension to his contract. “I said what I had to say, that’s how it is”, Terry told Sky Sports.
He added: “I made it very clear I wanted to stay”.
The Guus Hiddink-led side will now play against Newcastle on February 13. “We have dealt with this issue”, he said.
Diego Costa struck in injury time to rescue a point in a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge yesterday, with Terry after the game again making clear his wish to stay at Chelsea. “We have the best fans in the world – what they have done and given to me since I was a 17-year-old boy – I will never forget it and the memories will live with me forever”. “Let’s wait on what happens from now on”. We’re all focusing on the games in the tough weeks coming up. Terry was convinced that the decision should have been given their way by stating, “It was going in I think”.

Terry’s importance to Chelsea could be underlined during the remainder of the campaign after Hiddink confirmed that centre-half Kurt Zouma could be ruled out for the remainder of the season after landing awkwardly and being carried off on a stretcher.
“The estimation of the rest of the season is hopefully too much, but tomorrow (Monday) he will have an examination”, said Hiddink. “If you’ve seen the images and have experience of hyperextensions of the knee joint, it’s very bad when you land with a hyperextension of your leg”.

“His desire is there and he’s been showing that desire for Chelsea for a long time”.
