Tesla Model 3 vs Chevrolet Bolt: Are The Paths Going To Cross?

Tesla has been advocating and releasing electric cars for years.

I’m charged up about Chevrolet’s new Bolt electric auto. The result of the “push” whihc General Motors earlier talked about allowed the Chevy Bolt to go further on a 60 kWh battery pack. GM has a long history of doing the same. The question of battery production has taken on more relevance after a wave of positive Bolt reviews have reset some expectations for the model once described as a “halo” auto for the automaker. If you’re looking to get an EV right now, the Bolt is a good option. First, the vehicle was rated by the US Environmental Protection Agency for 238 miles of driving range on a single charge-handily surpassing GM’s long-held target of 200 miles. That’s impressive, especially considering that Tesla’s Model 3 is only expected to have a range of 215 miles per charge.

The media this week heaped much-deserved praise on General Motors for achieving two major feats with its new Chevy Bolt EV.

Back in April, Tesla unveiled their Model 3 Electric Vehicle which is an expensive auto. It was recently announced that Chevy Bolt is capable running more than 200 miles.

The 2017 Chevy Bolt outlasts the upcoming Tesla Model 3 in how far drivers can go on a single charge, Chevy said this week. Even if the Bolt were somehow to capture the sort of interest generated by Tesla’s Model 3 – which has collected nearly 400,000 deposits – it’s not clear how GM and LG Chem could deliver them. In a road test in California, the Chevy Bolt also managed to impress with its range, roominess and comfort.

Though Tesla and Chevrolet may have a lot in common, Tesla Model S, however, is a bit on the pricey side. It has built up an order book of some 400,000 cars, with prospective owners putting down $1,000 payments for cars that aren’t there yet. Known as Vauxhall across the pond, GM’s Chevy equivalent in Europe typically enjoys massive success alongside Ford selling compact nameplates. It’s barely scratching the surface of the 9.9 million/year vehicles it sells worldwide. Just as Chevy had initially described the Bolt as having a range of “a minimum of 200 miles”, only to exceed that number later by nearly 20 percent, the Model 3’s range unveiled in March may similarly be a placeholder.
