Tesla Model S P100D Ludicrous now fastest production vehicle in the world…

The Model S P100D, which features Ludicrous mode that allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0-60 in a splintering 2.5 seconds, has been named the “third fastest accelerating production auto ever produced”.

Those who’ve already ordered the P90D Ludicrous mode cars will be able to upgrade, but for a cost of $20,000, which will handle the costs associated with recycling the battery.

Tesla will begin selling the quickest-accelerating auto in production, the Model S P100D, CEO Elon Musk said in a conference call.

With Ludicrous Mode the Model X P90D has a 0-100km/h time of 3.4 seconds and a 467km driving range.

The Model 3 is smaller and more affordable vehicle that now is in the development stage.

Tesla’s new P100D starts at only $135,000 and it’s quicker than a huge list of expensive cars, something that most people wouldn’t have thought was possible a few years ago.

Still, Musk admitted that assembly line constraints will limit production of the new battery packs to about 200 week – just 10 percent of its current output.

As the name suggests, the 100 kWh battery is the largest in any Model S, and has a range of 315 miles. “That’s just a very positive message for the electric vehicle industry as a whole beyond just Tesla”.

The other model that is being released in Model X P100D.

The 2017 Tesla Model S P100D starts at United States dollars 134,500 (around INR 90.28 lakhs) while the price of Model X P100D is yet to be announced.

Tesla in a statement said that while the new P100D “is obviously an expensive vehicle, we want to emphasize that every sale helps pay for the smaller and much more affordable Tesla Model 3 that is in development”. Existing P90D Ludicrous owners can also upgrade to a 100 kWh pack, but for an increased fee, as their used 90 kWh pack will have to be recycled.
