Unfortunately today the company has announced a recall on 2,700 Model X vehicles, due to a potential issue with their third-row seating.

In the interest of safety, Tesla Motors has chose to launch a recall involving its Model X SUV after a slight incident occurred during its strength test prior to starting the delivery of the vehicle in Europe.
Last year, Tesla recalled 90,000 of its Model S sedans to inspect a seatbelt attachment. It seems the locking hinge that allows the rear seat to fold forward could fail, causing the seat back to go down during a crash. Until the recall is complete, Tesla said customers can drive their cars, but the company advises that passengers avoid sitting in the third row.
The publication cited unnamed sources within Tesla, who claim that the Palo Alto automaker will make some minor changes to the Model S’ design.
News about the company’s recall was first reported by CNBC and has been confirmed by Tesla.
Unlike the two previous unveilings, the Tesla Model S didn’t invite too many polarizing views in regard to its styling. We are now constructing new third row seat backs to match all affected vehicles. All affected Model X customers should get a call from their service center to schedule a fix as soon as the replacement seat backs are available.
The California-based firm sent emails informing owners of the affected vehicles about the safety issue. The forthcoming Model 3 electric sedan will be Tesla’s mass-market auto, which will come with a price tag of $35,000.
The recall comes right at the time when Tesla is ready to speed up its production of Model X, which has been hampered so far because of supplier parts shortages in January and February that lasted much longer than initially expected.
Tesla has brought some of its seat manufacturing in-house.

A new front fascia, adaptive LED headlamps, some new interior finishes, and the availability of an air-filtration system that’s similar to what’s available on the Model X SUV.
