The new version 8.0 of the company’s suite of electronic driving aids promises to make driving a Model S or a Model X safer than it has ever been, even if the vehicle isn’t moving.

Tesla Motors Inc. consumers in Norway are demanding a refund from the US electric-car manufacturer, claiming that the auto models that they bought that was endorsed with an “insane mode” feature of acceleration didn’t accelerate as fast as they expected it to be.
Impressively, Tesla’s sweeping UI changes are applied to a wide range of vehicles, including the first Model S deliveries from 2012.
Navigation destination searches now take just one touch, and the zoom function automatically adjusts to fit more relevant information. Voice commands are also easier to use, prompted by a single tap. And transcripts of commands are now displayed on the instrument panel.
The improved Autopilot enables the vehicle to better find curves in the road and adjust the speed accordingly.
Another new feature is the cabin overheat protection function.
Among the Autopilot changes are improvements in the radar system’s signal processing, allowing it to more clearly picture the world around it in a 3D image. By bouncing radar signals beneath and around a auto, hardware-equipped Model S and Model X are able to see two cars ahead, thereby improving the vehicle’s reaction time to heavy braking events.
More than 100 Tesla owners in Norway have sued the electric auto maker, saying their vehicles aren’t as powerful as advertised.
Tesla’s revamped autopilot is officially in the works.

The roof, set to be unveiled in San Francisco Bay Area, would give shape to Musk’s vision of building green homes using solar energy and battery storage to help charge power systems, including the electric cars. This is consistent with the luxury electric vehicle maker insisting that Autopilot is not a fully autonomous driving system, and that drivers must pay attention to the road at all times.
