Teslas hit the 1 billion mile mark
The miles were contributed by all of the almost 75,000 Tesla sedans out there, which means each auto did an average of ~13,500 miles. However one executive has also claimed that the Model X will also boast a towing capacity “close to 10,000 pounds,” writes Christopher DeMorro for Gas2. Analysts at Vetr downgraded shares of Tesla Motors from a hold rating to a sell rating and set a $264.09 price target on the stock in a research note on Wednesday, June 17th.

Since its initial launch in 2012, the Tesla Model S has undergone several important changes in its short history, starting first with the elimination of the 40 kilowatt-hour model due to limited demand alongside the 60 kilowatt-hour and 85 kilowatt-hour models. Tesla, however, has targeted the rapidly growing segment of female consumers. It is our aspiration to introduce it in March and then afterwards start production in the mid of 2017 or late 2017 is a more realistic schedule. Yes, the Model S is more expensive, at upwards of $88,000, than any of its competition in the category and that has a lot to do with the top resale value, but No. 1 is No. 1. At the time of this writing, Tesla has yet to debut a production version of the Model X.
The Tesla Model X taps into the burgeoning luxury crossover market, which has been growing at a seemingly endless pace. He added, “We continue to recommend buying shares at these levels ahead of the Model X launch”.
At the same conference, Straubel revealed that Tesla’s third-generation electric vehicle, Model 3 will not be one auto, but a family of vehicles. The sell-side analysts are projecting earnings per share of 0.0400 for the next fiscal quarter. The improvement will come from cost reductions on Daimler power trains, as well as increased sales of Tesla Energy and pre-owned Model S vehicles.

Nevada’s Office of Economic Development estimates that the Gigafactory will create 9,000 jobs, and it has already been agreed upon that half the workers in the completed factory will have to be Nevada residents. The analyst has rated Tesla 32 times total, earning an 82% success rate recommending the stock and a +35.5% average return per Tesla recommendation.
