Texans Hand Bengals First Loss
The Houston Texans gave the Cincinnati Bengals their first loss of the season Monday night in an ugly 10-6 affair. J Watt, the teams only “Marquee” player to ask him about the defense dominating the pathetic Bengals offense. Afterward, Watt and Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton, a Katy native, exchanged some words. Andy Dalton could have just realized the country saw it, cringed at the attempt at humor and let it slide.

“It wasn’t pretty. I mean, it was 10-6”.
The first half was marred with missed opportunities for both offenses and a poor run game, as evidenced by the two opposing quarterbacks leading their respective teams in rush yards through the first couple of quarters.
But Dalton was unable to conjure anything from a last drive when he took over at the Bengals’ 19-yard line with 3:54 remaining in the final quarter.
The Houston Texans have jumped into the 2015 NFL playoff picture in the AFC with their 10-6 victory over the previously unbeaten Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football.
“It was embarrassing”, Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert said of the loss. But, we still have to deal with the unpleasantness of losing when it comes around. “Maybe it will recharge us”. His rookie season saw him beat the Bengals in the regular season as well as the playoffs when he orchestrated the first ever Texans post season win.
Yates went 5-for-11 for 69 yards. “I have a lot of respect for him”.
On Monday night, Yates came in when Hoyer suffered a concussion in the third quarter.
The game’s lone touchdown came on a T.J. Yates to DeAndre Hopkins hookup from 22 yards out.
That wasn’t the only thing that felt familiar to Cincinnati.
TEXANS HAVE DALTON’S NUMBER: Dalton’s hometown team made him look very bad while beating the Bengals in first-round playoff games in the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
Dalton had been having an MVP-caliber season prior to his uninspiring performance against the Texans.
Dalton struggled against a rapid Houston defence, averaging just 5.2 yards per pass and getting sacked three times, giving credence to Watts comment. “I was trying to break my fall”. It’s tough to lose.
“Hop’s a go-to guy for us”, O’Brien said. He was also sacked three times, with Watt coming up with one of the sacks. This one got stripped away. The Bengals’ defense, which entered the game with the league’s second-best scoring defense, was stingy again – but the group was just one play too short. Telling statistics: The quarterbacks led their teams in rushing.

Dalton’s frustration is more understandable when you factor in the fact he threw less than 200 yards, no touchdowns and had just one interception.
