Texans HC: J.J. Watt will ‘be back sooner rather than later’
“He’s really on an upward trajectory”. Watt went under the knife to fix a herniated disc in his back. Texans coach Bill O’Brien told ESPN.

The Houston Texans might not get one of the NFL’s best players back until the third week of the regular season.
Watt had back surgery early in the offseason, and O’Brien said that the team felt good about how his recovery has gone thus far.
“I don’t think we can predict whether he’ll be ready for Week 1 or Week 2, but he’s going to be ready sooner rather than later”, O’Brien said.
More surprisingly received than Watt’s extended recovery, however, is the new surprising news that J.J. could miss several games this season.
Houston opens its season with games against Chicago (Sept. 11) and Kansas City (Sept. 18). Additionally, including his rookie year of 2011, the superstar defensive end has never before missed a game.

This diagnosis has been reworded by the always blunt J.J. Watt, who recently told Pro Football Talk that he underwent the procedure to clean “a whole bunch of crap out of my back”. He finished last season with 17.5 sacks, while playing with a broken hand and five torn muscles in his core area.
