Texans J.J. Watt passes physical, will return to practice Monday
Watt was reportedly in jeopardy of missing his first National Football League start after undergoing surgery to fix a herniated disc in late July, but Texans head coach Bill O’Brien gave an optimistic update on their star pass rusher on Friday.

Watt missed all of training camp and the Texans’ four preseason games after surgery to fix a herniated disc in his back in July.
Head coach Bill O’Brien said Friday that it “looks decent” that Watt could return for Week 1. On Sunday, just a little over a month after back surgery, Watt passed a physical and will return to practice tomorrow. Watt being on the field for the Texans opener for the last week or so, including a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN on Sunday that said Watt will play.
The Texans forced two more turnovers, giving them 12 in four preseason games.
The 11th overall pick in the 2011 draft has started in all 80 games in his career.
Brown tore his quadriceps past year in the Texans’ regular season finale against the Jaguars.

Watt is coming off an injury-riddled 2015 season in which he played through a broken hand, a back issue, and a reported five other torn core muscles.
