The Texans outside linebacker stormed out of the locker room and left the stadium after the team listed him as inactive for Saturday’s game.

NFL.com’s James Palmer says Clowney left to deal with a family matter.

Clowney is recovering from a significant foot injury he suffered two weeks ago against the Tennessee Titans.

ESPN’s Lisa Salters reported that an angry Clowney stalked off the premises, but the Houston Chronicle’s John McClain tweeted that Clowney has “known since after practice Wednesday” that a foot injury would sideline him.

Clowney played at South Pointe High School in Rock Hill and then at the University of SC.

The Houston Texans decided that Jadeveon Clowney wasn’t healthy enough to play in Saturday’s AFC Wild Card game. Players are allowed to leave if they are inactive.

He was limited in practice on Thursday and missed the team’s walkthrough on Friday.

The first overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Clowney finished 2015 with 4.5 sacks in 13 games.
