The Houston Texans will be squaring off with the Atlanta Falcons on the road in what will be a hard game in Week 4.

Devonta Freemen scored on a 6-yard rush, his third touchdown of the day, as he continues to lead the Falcons’ offense in their drubbing of the Texans.

With Tevin Coleman sidelined for the second consecutive week, Devonta Freeman stepped up to give Atlanta a consistent, and oftentimes devastating, ground attack.

Atlanta defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux intercepted a deflected Mallett pass to end the Texans’ first drive. The surprising Atlanta Falcons didn’t need him. This has a lot to do with the Falcons, who are at last rewarding quarterback Matt Ryan with big plays.

Meanwhile, J.J. Watt has exactly one tackle.

The Colts haven’t lost to an AFC South opponent since the Texans beat them in Houston on December 16, 2012.

Ivory scored the first touchdown from 3 yards to start off his ninth career 100-yard game.

Rarely will you see a team beaten in every stage of the game the way the Falcons emasculated the Texans in racking up a 42-0 lead Sunday without seeming to break all that much of a sweat.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – Just hand the ball to Devonta Freeman. Wow, he’s sure taking advantage of it.

Five things we learned from the Falcons’ 48-21 victory over the Houston Texans before a crowd of 69,904 fans on Sunday at the Georgia Dome. Two out of the other three times they performed this feat, the Falcons reached the NFC Championship game.

Freeman, who also recorded a hat-trick of touchdowns last week against the Dallas Cowboys, had scoring runs of 16, 23 and six yards and rushed for 68 yards. And we all have to play better. I’m just blessed to have the opportunity to play in the NFL. “It’s never about one day”, O’Brien said. “That allowed me to get open and move around a little bit”. The Texans have won two of the three all-time meetings against the Falcons. Freeman took a short pass 24 yards, then darted through a huge hole on the next play for his first TD. He’s gotta do a better job of throwing the ball more accurately, he’s gotta be more controlled in the pocket. “What’s great is we can only get better”. Newton was in Foster’s path because he was beaten badly off the snap by Falcons outside linebacker O’Brien Schofield and was trying to recover and throw a block. After forcing an Arian Foster fumble, Desmond Trufant would scoop-and-score as he returned a touchdown 24 yards for a touchdown.

After Freeman’s long reception, Ryan hit Hankerson on a quick slant for a 3-yard touchdown.

Quarterback Matt Ryan credited part of Atlanta’s success to converting eight of 12 third-down chances in the first three quarters. “We’ve got to be able to run the football”. Even with Foster, the Texans were held to minus-two yards rushing in the first half.

“That’s coach’s job to make that decision”, said Hoyer, who was replaced by Mallett after starting a season-opening loss to Kansas City.
