Texans RB Arian Foster hurts groin; could need surgery
According to a source close to ESPN NFL Nation’s Tania Ganguli, Foster went down with a groin injury during practice yesterday, and it was the Texans first fully padded practice of training camp.

But missed time seems like a near certainty for him, and the days of him racking up 300 carries in a season could be over for him. While questions persist regarding their quarterback position with Ryan Mallett and Brian Hoyer battling for the starting job, Foster has been old reliable when on the field.
He missed two games last November after suffering a groin injury against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The former undrafted running back is signed through the 2016 season, following an extension in 2012. “So you can rest assured that as long as he’s healthy and he’s out there, we will run the ball”.
The Houston Texans may again be forced to prepare for life without Arian Foster.
Unfortunately for the Texans, Foster could be in line to miss regular-season action for the third year in a row.

Foster ranked sixth in the NFL last season with 1,246 rushing yards despite missing three games entirely due to injuries and parts of three others due to injuries. That leaves Foster in the position where he will have to be the offensive workhorse for the majority of the season.
