Josh Walker has been suspended indefinitely after the Texas A&M linebacker was arrested on Friday.

The Brazos County sheriff’s office said Saturday the 20-year-old junior linebacker from Gilmer in East Texas was booked into the jail Friday night. The Chronicle reported she suffered bruises when she hit a chair.

Walker pushed his girlfriend into a rocking horse, causing bruising and swelling on her left hip, according to the probable cause statement obtained by ESPN.

Alaniz also said the girlfriend “tried calling 911 on her phone” but Walker took it away from her before being allowed to use it. After some more arguing, he handed her his phone to call police. Walker failed to hang up the call, and the 911 dispatcher could hear a woman crying and telling someone to “get off of her”. Alaniz also said Walker cooperated with officers when they arrived.

Texas A&M immediately suspended Walker indefinitely upon learning of the arrest, according to the Chronicle. Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin may choose to rid the roster of his presence as he looks to enter a crucial 2016 season with as few distractions as possible.

In two seasons, Walker has played in 21 games, five total starts, and has recorded 45 tackles in that stretch.
