Texas allows guns in college classrooms under new law
The new “campus carry” law in Texas, which went into effect on Monday, is reportedly meant to prevent further mass shootings in the future – by letting students be armed and thus enabling them to defend themselves.

Guns will generally allowed in buildings, classrooms, and dorms, with each public school mandated to set guidelines. Barbara Beebe, president of Western Texas College, said her school began the process of working with faculty, staff and students during the spring semester with open forums to discuss how it wants to proceed with the mandated law.
