Texas Democrats make a case for Tim Kaine
Kaine said Hillary Clinton is consistant and said she delivers. Tim Kaine (D-VA) at a campaign rally at Florida International University Panther Arena on July 23, 2016 in Miami, Florida.

Tim Kaine accepted the Democratic vice presidential nomination Wednesday in Philadelphia.
That’s especially true after Clinton confidante Terry McAuliffe, the current Virginia governor, said that, as president, Clinton is likely to renegotiate the deal instead of rejecting it outright.
Capping almost a quarter century in public life, Clinton will become the party’s standard-bearer against Republican nominee Donald Trump in the November 8 election when she accepts the nomination on Thursday. Unlike some running mates who tend to linger in the spotlight-hi Joe Biden-Kaine has taken quickly to the second-fiddle role.
Mixed into a largely biographical address created to introduce the little-known Kaine to the American public was a testimony to Clinton’s character, including what poll after poll shows is her biggest weakness: what American’s make of her honesty.
“And I’ll tell you, if any of you are looking for that party of Lincoln, we have got a home for you right here in the Democratic Party”, he said amid applause. Grabbing the spotlight at a news conference in Miami, Trump urged Russian Federation to find and release tens of thousands of emails that Clinton did not hand over to USA officials as part of a probe into her use of a private email system while she was secretary of state.
“When I lived in Honduras, I learned that the best compliment you could give someone was to say they were “listo” – ready”, he said. But Clinton’s choice for VP has given Trump yet another opening for his demagogic efforts to pose as some kind of populist against powerful elites.
Kaine’s supporters were quick to point out that he’d fought tirelessly to end racial discrimination in housing, had faced down the gun lobby in a pro-gun state and earned stellar endorsements from reproductive rights groups after an early career in which he’d mostly earned their skepticism.
He brings to the podium a rich, largely unknown life story, a career path that carried him from working at a Jesuit missionary school and as a civil-rights lawyer to mayor of Richmond, governor of Virginia and now US senator. But he remains largely unknown on the national political stage.
When he highlighted his background as the son of a union ironworker and graduate of Jesuit schools, he made sure to mention his father-in-law, former Virginia Gov. Linwood Holton, a Republican who integrated the state’s public schools.
But in a nod to Sanders, Kaine said Wednesday night, “We should all feel the Bern and we all should not want to get burned by the other guy”.
He placed Clinton in a long line of liberal icons, including her husband and predecessor. He mocked Donald Trump during his speech, even though his impressions was not very good.
The Democratic nominee, who promises to tackle income inequality, tighten gun control and rein in Wall Street if she becomes president, is eager to portray Trump, a businessman and former reality TV show host, as too unstable to sit in the Oval Office. Elizabeth Warren of MA or Sen. The Pacific Rim agreement has been promoted by President Barack Obama as a way to increase USA influence in Asia and act as a counterweight to China. He just says, ‘believe me.’ So here’s the question.
With working-class roots and a spotless record both as Virginia governor and senator, he is seen as helping Clinton garner support among reluctant independent male voters – although at the risk of alienating the party’s progressive left wing.

Kaine attempted to defray some of that worry during his address.
