With rainy conditions wreaking havoc with both teams’ ability to throw the ball, the Longhorns relied heavily on the ground game, rushing 53 times for 274 yards.

The 11 a.m. kickoff (noon in West Virginia) favors Texas Tech because Morgantown is similar to Lubbock in that it is a hostile environment and a hard place to win.

Kansas State (3-3, 0-3 Big 12) gets a chance to erase that memory a bit with a visit to Texas on Saturday. To lock down a bowl game, they’ll have to score more points. Although Kansas did score 10 points in the second quarter, the game was never close. Soon, K-State would have to abandon the run completely, and from there, the lead only ballooned. Running back DeAndre Washington eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark for the third time this season, carrying the ball 23 times for 157 yards and a touchdown.

“We’re capable of it, I’ve seen us do it”. As the starter running the offense, Swoopes was often a hesitant runner, unsure of his decision-making.

Texas Tech scored a season low in points and finished with 436 yards of total offense, snapping a four-game streak where the Red Raiders had recorded at least 500 yards of offense.

Texas running back Johnathan Gray, who had 103 yards on 18 carries, …

But this win is important for just that reason – it didn’t take long for Kansas State and everyone watching to realize that Texas was going to run the ball all day. Baylor (7-0)W, Iowa State 45-27: Playing a bunch of mediocre teams in a lousy schedule was working just fine.

Oklahoma State endured tragedy at their homecoming parade before the game, but the football team played through it in administering a 58-10 beat down to the 0-7 Kansas Jayhawks. “We were able to bounce back …So you’ve got to be ready for a team that’s going to be ready to come and play, a team that’s mentally and physically tough”. “I’m not accepting one now”. Kansas State had 11 offensive possessions and scored on only two, with only a single touchdown. (Hubener has since set his Twitter account to private, and I can’t say I blame him).
