Texas High School Football Player Dies After Collapsing On Sidelines

Matthews was in critical condition at ETMC in Tyler, according to the Alto High School principal. All of the teens except Williams died after being injured on the field.

Last season, five high school players died of causes directly related to football, according to the National Center for Catastrophic Sports Injury Research at the University of North Carolina.
