Texas Lawyer Files ‘Birther’ Lawsuit Against Ted Cruz

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said Friday that Ted Cruz owes the people of New York an apology for attacking their values.

“I find myself for once in agreement with Donald Trump – I think it was right for Donald Trump to defend New York City and to talk about the heroic actions of the people of this city after 9/11”.

The ever-combative Daily News hit the streets with a big front-page illustration of the Statue of Liberty giving Cruz the finger.

The Texas senator has slammed Trump for embodying “New York values”, including during Thursday’s Fox Business Network debate.

Appearing in an extended interview on MSNBC’s Morning Joe from Des Moines, Iowa, Trump said Cruz “hurt himself” in Thursday’s debate with his sweeping remarks about the political ideologies of New Yorkers. Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, who boycotted the debate after being relegated to the undercard, held a question and answer session titled #RandRally at Twitter headquarters in NY. Even as someone who’s been very critical and cynical about Trump, I believed him here.

“Actually, I’d love to get you to build a wall”, Cruz quipped, alluding to the wall Trump wants to construct along the US-Mexico border – paid for by Mexico.

“I already know the Democrats are going to be bringing a suit”. “I’m glad we’re focusing on the important topics of the evening”, he said. Cruz was trying to discount Donald Trump’s alignment with the Republican Party.

In an attempt to insult GOP rival Donald Trump, Texas Sen. Cruz and Trump are the only two candidates who consistently call out the media for their nonsense and they both happen to be leading in the polls.

He’s a strict originalist who believes the Constitution should be interpreted exactly as written – which means, according to Cruz’s view, that the 18th century right to bear arms for the purposes of a militia should extend to all 21st-century USA citizens and include new forms of high-powered weaponry. Cruz was on the spot early because Trump has recently questioned whether Cruz’s Canadian birth met the “natural born citizen” qualification cited in the Constitution.

Donald Trump isn’t letting up.

And listen, there are many, many wonderful, wonderful working men and women in the state of NY.

BARTIROMO: I am from NY.

Just to repeat, here’s those “insulting” comments again: “everyone understands that the values in New York City are socially liberal or pro-abortion or pro- gay-marriage, focus around money and the media”.

Trump responded by citing the city’s response to the September 11 attacks.

When the World Trade Center came down, I saw something that no place on Earth could have handled more beautifully, more humanely than NY…

Not a lot of New Yorkers have given money to Cruz’s bid for the White House. I’ll take his NY stereotype any day.
