Texas Man Accused Of Killing 8 Says Kids Were Becoming Monsters
Conley also insisted he loved his own son “to death”.

Conley said he was in shock when he found out.
“My heart goes out to the mother who received the text from her daughter that she was in trouble, and the mother was many states away but of course did what any mother would do and called 911”, Harris District Attorney Devon Anderson said Monday. “She was cheating on me”.
“They were growing up to be monsters, they were disrespectful, rude in school”.
Two youngsters blamed for the deadly shooting of a 10-year-old kid before his Overtown home stayed in the slammer Sunday, and the casualty’s lamenting family said their captures are the break in the right around five-month-old case they had been sitting tight for. I’m not saying I killed them because of that.
Conley told KHOU he had been living with his ex-girlfriend Valerie Jackson in Houston for some time, and that her husband was out of the picture. “They were growing up to be monsters”.
In 2002, he was charged with felony retaliation against Valerie and, due to two previous felony convictions, could have gotten 25 years to life behind bars.
Carlos Sanchez, who lived across the street from the family, said he would sometimes see the youngest child, Jonah, playing in the street with his siblings and no adults around.
Most of the victims had been handcuffed and some had been shot multiple times, police have said.
“We don’t – can’t – completely appreciate the inspiration of a man that may take the lives of such a large number of innocuous people”.
Devlin said he then closed that foster home and removed any remaining children from the home.
“The killer’s motives appear to be related to a dispute with Valerie, who was his former domestic partner”.
“Dwayne was a monster and Valerie, she was no Good Samaritan either, they did evil things all the time”, he said.
Her office said Jackson forced the prosecution’s hand in how it handled the case. Last month, Conley was charged with assault after allegedly pushing Valerie Jackson’s head against their home’s refrigerator.
“While awaiting response for the (unit), the body of an unidentified child was observed through a window at the residence”, he said. “It’s hard”, said Alycia Harvey, the lead prosecutor in the case.
Investigators have declined to say when on Saturday the victims were shot or if any victims were alive when deputies first tried to enter the home.
Sanchez and other neighbors questioned why authorities didn’t go into the home sooner on Saturday, knowing the family’s troubled history and Conley’s violent criminal record. Conley said he and Valerie Jackson were together on and off for 14 years.

When asked whether he had a gun, Conley said he wasn’t allowed to own any.
