According to KTRK, Patton Village Officer Stacey Baumgartner responded to the Valero Corner Store at State Highway 242 and USA 59 in reference to a man urinating on the sidewalk and exposing himself to customers. After a 6.5 mile chase the pair came to the intersection of SH 242 and Farm to Market Road 1485.

A high speed chase that began over reports of sidewalk urination ended with the death of a police officer and an 11-year-old boy on Father’s Day.

Thirty patrol cars from different law enforcement agencies escorted Sgt. Baumgartner’s body from the hospital to the Montgomery County Forensic Services in Conroe.

Nee returned to the scene after allegedly driving away from the crash initially. He was taken into custody by an officer from Roman Forest village.

An 11-year-old boy inside the Suburban was killed in the crash. Several other people in the Suburban were injured and transported to a local hospital, ABC13 reported. Names of the other victims had not been released by Monday morning.

The suspect is being held Monday on charges of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault with a vehicle.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Sgt. Baumgartner.
