“‘It brings to mind a little over a year ago of the Stay family, where we went through this, an absolute tragedy, and again it’s played out for Harris County citizens to endure this again, ‘ Gilliland said”. While the call was being placed, deputies surrounded the home, and they spotted the body of a juvenile through a window. Four deputies then forced their way into the home, prompting the 49-year-old male suspect inside to begin shooting. Deputies pulled back and waited for the operations unit to arrive. The standoff lasted until 12:30 a.m., and the unnamed man eventually surrendered to the authorities, as KHOU reports.
