Later in the day, the Fort Worth and Dallas police investigated to determine whether an assault charge was warranted against Manziel following an altercation Friday between him and the ex-girlfriend.

The police report said the woman was uncooperative with officers, who were unable to locate a crime scene.
Fort Worth police tried to call Manziel, 23, and searched for him around the city, including with the department’s helicopter, Air One.
Authorities determined after a preliminary investigation that “a possible assault had occurred” in Dallas or elsewhere outside of Fort Worth.
The Cleveland Browns declined to comment on the lastest Manziel incident when contacted by ESPN, while the league said it is aware of the incident and “looking into it”.
According to police, someone called them in the early hours of the morning to report a possible assault. When asked if this was normal policy or if Manziel was getting special attention because of this status as a public figure, Corporal Tracey Knight responded that they will “deploy all useful personnel or tools available to fully investigate any call”.
With new head coach Hue Jackson taking over, it’s unknown if Manziel will even be back with the team this season. The website also reports that only two days ago, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam stated he believed the relationship the team has with Manziel can be fixed.
Previous year he was ruled out of the season finale game with a hamstring injury and missed a treatment session when he reportedly overslept after throwing a party at his house the night before. No arrests were made at that time either.
In January 2015, Manziel voluntarily entered a rehabilitation facility for undisclosed reasons.
