Of course, the role is not new for Heidi Cruz, who has taken a leave of absence from an executive position at Goldman Sachs to focus full-time on her husband’s campaign.

“I know when I vote for Ted Cruz for president he will live up the promise of true conservative values for the United States of America”, said Abbott. “We’re going to keep going the distance regardless, but we do know how this state is the crown jewel of Super Tuesday, and this is our home”.

Cruz finished third in Nevada, South Carolina and New Hampshire.

Mrs. Cruz has recently been campaigning across Texas for her husband. Ted Cruz was in San Antonio on Monday for one of the final stops on his “Cruz to Victory” campaign trail.

Perry and Abbott told the crowd that Cruz is the only candidate that has and will beat Donald Trump.

“When Ted stays above the fray – because he does not personally attack others, does not name-call, does not throw barbs, does not call people names in the Senate or in the campaign – we’re able to let the others squabble over little things”, she said. Trump swept the last three primaries and holds a hefty lead in many Super Tuesday states.

Cruz had Texas star power with him. Ted Cruz (R-TX) are taking part in rallies in North Texas Monday, one day before the Texas primary and Super Tuesday.
