Texas 37, Notre Dame 37 (3:29) – In the craziest sequence of a wild game, Foreman rips off a 19-yard run in which he looked dead to rights to very temporarily allow the Longhorns to regain the lead. He keeps the play going by eluding the rush, moves to his left and finds Torii Hunter Jr. for a 5-yard TD pass. It appears that the play clock hit zero before Texas snapped the ball back to the holder.
When asked about the discussions he had with the officials regarding that play Kelly’s only response was, “Heated”. A penalty was not called for the illegal head-to-head contact and Notre Dame proceeded to have a field goal blocked later in the possession.
On the next play, Hunter’s night came to an uncertain end with the hit from Elliot.
