He said he wasn’t sure how many people might show up to demonstrations scheduled for Friday night on the Las Vegas Strip and Saturday in downtown.
But rhetoric on both sides shows how hard that has already become: Just in the past week, a white Detroit police detective was demoted after calling Black Lives Matter activists “racists” and “terrorists”. (They also reveal that whites tend to be killed by whites.) This observation does not speak to the matter of racist policing and police brutality.
“It always feels like in America. if you take a stand for something, you automatically are against something else. Essentially, it just means ‘black lives matter, too'”.

“It’s this either-or proposition”, said Ross, who is black.
