The heartwarming video has been viewed more than a million times after being posted on Facebook just 16 hours ago. The Norwegian pair, whose names weren’t released, had taken their cameras to a river estuary at daybreak Friday., still the mudflats proved to be far less firm than in that they had thought.
Suction in the mud meant they were unable to move, until he made a decision to lie face-down in the mud.
A local construction worker, identified by Thai media as Chat Ubonchinda, was heading home from his fishing trip by boat when he spotted them.
After initially trying to pull the pair out of the mud, he then took their camera equipment to safety before embarking on another plan.
By lying flat on his face and letting the tourists put all their weight on him they are able to crawl out of the quagmire.
