On the other hand, it could just be a reference to the name of the book series: A Song of Ice and Fire.
In what was supposed to be a season 7 premiere date reveal on Facebook live, Game of Thrones showed the image of a melting block of ice.
A slightly less cryptic teaser was posted shortly after. As major house sigils crumble to ash, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) proclaims, “There is only one war that matters”.
Ultimately, we’re starting to wonder if for season 8, Game of Thrones will reveal their premiere date by letting a magic type of paint dry. “I’d like it if everyone would join me to help melt this ice block”.
When asked for a one-word tease to promote “Game of Thrones” Season 7, actor Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark) picked “connections”.
From the moment creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed their plans to roll out Season 7 much later than usual in order to accommodate the arrival of winter in Westeros. “The bad news is, there will only be seven episodes and the final season starts again as far as I know in September”, he added. Also interspersed were short videos of the series’ stars such Alfie Allen breathing fire.
It has been half a year since HBO’s #GameOfThrones concluded its sixth season, and we’ve been eagerly awaiting the seventh season of the fantasy drama ever since. Of course, we can’t forget the terrifying threat of the White Walkers now that winter has come.
