More than 100 people turned out last Friday (Nov. 20) night at Cambridge Centre as officials with the Salvation Army wished everyone a Merry Christmas and urged the community to donate.
The church and charity is hoping to ensure that children from Ellesmere Port wake up to presents on Christmas Day.
“We changed our strategy of how we give out toys by allowing the parents to choose the toys for their children”, said Kim. It is a chance to help lift the spirits of people with a holiday greeting.
“Donations from the Kettle Campaign aren’t just for Christmas, but help people throughout the year”, Maj.
The Clarksville Salvation Army is once again supporting the community with their hard work over the holidays and your help is needed.
Taunton Salvation Army is encouraging people to add an extra toy or two to their shopping list this year so that families struggling to buy a gift for their children can ensure there is a surprise under the tree this year. The Lundergan family, who own Lundy’s Catering in Lexington have been serving up at the Salvation Army since 1985.
Gifts can include anything from soft and educational toys for the very youngest child to games, toys and accessories for older children.
“My wife Yolanda and I do this every year and we look forward to it. Again, another opportunity to say thank you”. “That’s the service we pay to be on this earth”. It will be a great festive occasion and we’d love to see you there.
