As Mr. Trump continues with his triumphalism, his main rivals Mr. Rubio and Senator Ted Cruz, who finished third for a second time, are hoping that the more than 30 percent undecided voters in the Super Tuesday states could be mobilised in their favour.

“Trump is succeeding everywhere right now, and Texas is not immune to that”, said Matt Mackowiak, a GOP political consultant in Austin who isn’t aligned with any presidential candidate. A new Texas Tribune poll showed Cruz leading Trump, 37 percent to 28 percent. “And the argument we have made (is), I am the conservative that can unify the Republican Party”. I love the poorly educated.

O’Connell, who isn’t backing anyone in the GOP presidential race, said Rubio or Cruz needs to drop out soon to deny Trump the nomination. Delegates are awarded proportionally in the 21 primaries and caucuses held over the next three weeks in 19 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia.
