Regina King won Best Supporting Actress for her fierce performance in ABC’s thought-provoking series, American Crime.

Olive Kitteridge took home six Emmy’s, and was nominated for 13.

Olive Kitteridge” was also a victor at last week’s Creative Arts Emmys, taking home the awards for casting for a limited series or movie (which went to Laura Rosenthal and Carolyn Pickman) and for single camera picture editing for a limited series or movie (which went to Jeffrey M. Werner).

The miniseries is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Elizabeth Strout. The story is set in the fictional town of Crosby, Maine, and HBO turned the 13 short stories into a four-part series, that debuted last November. Here she plays a stern middle school math teacher whose already tense marriage to the friendly pharmacist (Jenkins, familiar as Nathaniel Fisher on HBO’s “Six Feet Under”) is further tested after Olive’s father commits suicide.

As soon as Kerry Washington said her name for Outstanding Actress in a Limited Series/Movie, the Olive Kitteridge star didn’t seem that impressed.

“There has been a bad mistake, clearly”, said Hamm, who played troubled ad man Don Draper in the series that ended its run without adding another best-drama trophy to its haul of four previous wins. She isn’t kind, though she shows compassion.

In a second trailer released by HBO, Kitteridge blames her mean temperament on depression.

“So did I”, Henry fires back.

Once upon a time, so they say, America used to watch television more or less together. But even though HBO provided it in our gift, I admittedly never got around to completing the acclaimed miniseries.
