The 2016 CHAN hosts Rwanda are drawn in a tough group

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the competition which is now in its fourth edition is for footballers playing in the domestic leagues on the African continent.

All three of Zambia;s opponents will mark the first time they will play them at the CHAN tournament.

The inaugural edition hosted by Cote d’Ivoire was won by the Democratic Republic of Congo, while Libya swept to glory at the last championship in South Africa. Oliseh argued that all the countries that qualified for the tournament, billed to start January 16 in Rwanda have top quality home-based players and it will not be easy for all the teams.

Hosts Rwanda will play Gabon, Morocco and Cote d’Ivoire in Group A, to be based at the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali.

Group D: Zimbabwe, Mali, Uganda and Zambia.

The draws for the competition were made by CAF General Secretary, Hicham El Amrani at the Serena Hotel in Kigali on Sunday, November 15.
