Schools across the United Kingdom marked Roald Dahl Day on Tuesday by asking pupils to dress up as their favourite characters from his books. She said in an interview, “All children have darkness in their world, they all have worries and they all have fears”.
Youngsters were designing posters on how to spot a witch as part of a range of creative activities. At Reinwood, the Puffin Virtually Live performance was projected on to a big screen in the school hall.
So, it’s no wonder that Hollywood has mined Dahl’s extensive bibliography to create some of the best book-to-movie adaptations of all time.
The children’s author would have reached a century today, so there are worldwide celebrations going on.
