Apple has officially released watchOS 3, the major software update that significantly improves all Apple Watches. Fortunately, the WatchOS 3 will not be exclusive to the Apple Watch Series 2 and it will be available for older Apple Watch models come Tuesday, Sept. 13. The iOS 10 GM should be fine, but you won’t be able to update to watchOS 3 from iOS 9 or earlier. With a dual-core processor, the S2 chip makes the Apple Watch up to 50 percent faster. Apple Pay has been integrated into apps on the watch, and you can quickly write text on the screen to scribble replies to messages. If your iPhone is at 50% or higher already, you’ll still need to keep the charger attached as the update could take a while and you don’t want to have your watch power down before the update is complete.

Apple is also bringing three new watch faces with watchOS 3: Minnie Mouse, Numerals, and Activity. If you have an app in the dock then it will open instantly when launched, a much better experience than watchOS 2.

The Apple Watch Series 2 is priced at $369 for the 38mm aluminum model, and the 42mm version is priced at $399.

For months, fans have been heavily speculating on the Apple Watch’s successor and it has finally been confirmed as the Apple Watch Series 2.

With the Series 2, Apple Watch Series 1 gets a price drop and now starts at AED 1,099. The possible reason for naming the device “Series 2” is because it is more of an improvement to the current Apple Watch instead of a completely new sequel. The new innovation from Apple created the Apple Watch with a powerful dual-core processor for ultimate powerful performance.
