The Bachelor: Ben explains the reason for his ‘patience’ with Lace

Ben Higgins’ season of The Bachelor kicked off last week with a surprisingly dramatic two-hour premiere that saw some drunken stupors usually reserved for The Bachelorette. “(Caila would have nailed the creepy smell test.) By the end of episode two, though, everyone has crossed onto the dark side, scaring away poor LB, who evidently thought she was headed to friendship ‘n” soccer camp.

Lace also wanted to clarify some things with Ben where she apologizes for her actions from the first rose ceremony.

Ben and Caila did steal some alone time, where a casual conversation about what they’re looking for in a relationship showed a deeper side to Caila that Ben sealed with a rose and a kiss.

Becca, Amber, Mandi, JoJo, Jubilee, Jennifer, and Lace joined Ben at a high school to take part in a competition for the Bachelor High Homecoming Queen crown.

“I’m not surprised”, she tells Ben competitors.

The rose ceremony was pretty normal with “Insecure Lace” crying her eyes out again and girls whining about not getting enough time with the Bachelor.

“Bachelor blogger Reality Steve already released spoilers teasing the name of the woman who received Ben Higgins” final rose months ago.

The first one-on-one date of the season went to Caila, who is, you probably remember, Ben’s biggest fan. It turns out Hart and Ice Cube aren’t necessarily Cupids. They end the date with Caila receiving a rose and a private performance by singer Amos Lee.

Then came the second group date with six girls including Olivia, Emily, Hayley, Amanda, Samantha and Shushanna. The Bachelor 2016 is officially underway, and on Monday January 11 Ben Higgins’ search for love will continue in episode 2. Oh yeah and the other girls had to watch (yes, torture).

Tensions were high and wine glasses were full during the week’s cocktail party, where the women scrambled to gain some last-minute time with their man. But Ben spent his evening alongside his favourites, making hair barrettes for the daughters of Amanda Stanton and lip-locking with Olivia, before it was time to hand out roses. Twitter casts the show’s new villain as Olivia, the rose ceremony princess, for her manipulation techniques early in the game.

They eventually get to know each other during a dinner where Ben asks her what she looks for in a guy.
