Viall, 35, has become a familiar face to Bachelor Nation fans over the years.

They didn’t exactly end things on the best of terms, with Kaitlyn Bristowe dumping Nick Viall just as he was getting on one knee to propose to her. He was the runner-up on both Andi Dorfman’s and Kaitlyn Bristowe’s seasons of The Bachelorette, and he is now starring on season 3 of Bachelor in Paradise.

Nick first appeared on Andi Dorfman’s season of The Bachelorette which aired in 2014, again coming in second place.

Mike Fleiss, the creator of the show, broke the news on his personal Twitter account during the east coast airing of ABC’s “Bachelor In Paradise” after show “After Paradise“, with Nick as a guest on the show. “I hope it works out”. He faced a similar situation on Bristowe’s season, following a night shared in Bristowe’s hotel room which led to complications with front-runner Shawn Booth, to whom she’s still engaged.

After his second attempt at love on The Bachelorette, Nick joined season three of Bachelor In Paradise, which once again saw Josh arrive and capture the heart of the woman he liked (in this case, Amanda Stanton). That’s right, Nick beat out a handful of other hopefuls who wanted to find love on the reality TV dating series, including fan favorite Luke Pell.

Host Chris Harrison explained the choice during an interview with Good Morning America on Wednesday. “I think that’s likely”.

Fans are very well acquainted with Nick Viall.

He also revealed he’s looking for “someone who is confident and knows their own self-worth… and somebody who makes me a better person and challenges me and isn’t afraid to give as much as I like to”.

So it’s hard to overlook Viall’s most memorable televised moment that came not when his marriage proposals were denied twice, but in the aftermath of Season 10, when he publicly shamed a contestant for having sex with him, an act that earned him scorn for his classlessness but also three subsequent invitations to continue participating on “Bachelor” enterprises.

Typically the show reaches back to the most recent finalist on The Bachelorette to cast as the lead of The Bachelor.

Last season, ABC received backlash for choosing the JoJo Fletcher as the next “Bachelorette”.

Will Nick Viall’s two exes – Kaitlyn Bristowe and Andi Dorfman – watch him on The Bachelor 2017?

“He has just become that perennial, second place guy who wants to find love and is as honest, if not more honest, than anybody about finding it”, Harrison told People.
