‘The Bachelorette’ heats up: Season 12, Episode 2 recap
“But that wasn’t my love story…” she trails off, finally handing back the talking stick. And what a group date! That’s when the limo bursts into flames and the fire truck rolls up.

However, Reality Steve had claimed that Jojo Fletcher clearly lied.
The the first group date gave ten lucky bachelors a chance to see sparks fly when they headed for a firefighting training facility. “There’s equipment everywhere. It looks really scary”, confesses Evan the erectile dysfunction fixer in direct opposition to the extreme confidence he displayed during last week’s premiere. He goes pale and clammy after some light exercise, so he has to take a moment to huff some oxygen and think about what he’s done with his life. They all competed for the opportunity to spend alone time with JoJo.
The After Party: For his prize, JoJo lets Grant audition for the June page of the Los Angeles Firefighters calendar.
Cruising off the power wave, James T. read JoJo a heartfelt note that brought her to tears.
There will be more events after all that action as Fletcher will invite James Taylor on a one-on-one date to Culver City.
In the end, Wells gets the group date rose, proving that the challenge itself was even more pointless than anyone could have imagined. The two ended up drinking wine and kissing by the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Taylor will also get an early rose from Fletcher.
The Bachelorette Milestone: Ladies and gentlemen, we have a villain! He walks around in black tank tops, attaches his suitcase to his torso for pull ups, won’t join in the house singalongs, and dares to question the casts’ strong feelings for a relative stranger. Lane told Us Weekly he thinks Chad is nothing short of a tool, especially after a promo that shows Johnson threatening to hunt a fellow contestant down after they leave the show. But just when you thought you knew Chad’s deal, he drops a bombshell and reveals to JoJo that his mother died six months prior to the show, which is why he has trouble connecting with people. Both start at 8 p.m. ET. Or in Bachelor parlance, he is not here to make friends.
“I’m not violent”, Chad wrote, attempting to assure the fanbase, “but I will stand up for myself, being as I, like everyone else, do not like being harassed and bullied”. Now, for the 12th season of The Bachelorette, with season 11 contestant JoJo Fletcher holding the roses this time around, we have Chad. These men know very little about the person JoJo is, so by him saying that honestly he doesn’t know yet what he actually loves about her, in a way, is a compliment. “No need to wait till the show is done to hunt him down”, Lane explained. This was solidified when he and five of the other men accompanied JoJo to ESPN where SportsNation hosts Matt Kellerman and Marcellus Wiley made them do silly things like show off their touchdown dance, get dizzy spinning around a bat and “propose” to JoJo.
As this drama unfolds, JoJo enjoys a fake snowfall and Will (who?) makes her toilet-paper the house.
The Cocktail Party: In a move straight out of the Courtney Robertson playbook, Chad decides to ambush JoJo outside the mansion. Before redeeming himself on Bachelor in Paradise, Lane was best remembered for bro’ing it out with Clint Arlis on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of The Bachelorette and making blunt, snarky comments about his competition.

There were some good moments with JoJo and these men, but the main focus of the night was on Chad and how everyone hates him and he is quite a douchebag. You definitely can’t forget the insulting women part (we’ll get to this later)! He really doesn’t care that they dislike him, and enjoys it in a way that is nearly diabolical. What is Chad’s future with JoJo? The men decide to do something about it. Are the realtors going to sell predatory subprime mortgages to win alone time with JoJo? That’s when Alex the Marine decides to confront Chad about his disrespect, which goes about as well as you would expect. He’s so tiring. That sends James S., Brandon and Will home.
