The Bataclan concert hall, site of Paris attacks, to reopen in November

Everyone in France (and probably everyone in the Western world) remembers the horrifying events of November 13, 2015, when Islamic State-sponsored terrorists invaded Paris’ Le Bataclan theatre during an Eagles of Death Metal concert and killed dozens of civilians. The US rock band the Eagles of Death Metal, who were playing at the concert hall when the militants opened fired into the crowd, have said that they want to play at the venue again. “We’re going to try and preserve its warmth and friendliness”.

The venue has not yet announced an exact date for the Bataclan’s reopening, or if Doherty will actually be the first artist to take the reopened stage. “We want to maintain the popular and festive spirit that has always been hers”.

In a Facebook post, the managers of Le Bataclan released a statement detailing the upcoming renovations to the venue. Also on the bill are Youssou N’Dour and the Super Étoile de Dakar on November 18, Nada Surf on December 2 and MZ on December 3. “Other concerts and shows will of course be announced in the coming days”, the statement said. The concert hall will reopen in November, and Peter Doherty of the Libertines is slated to perform on 11/16.
