The best/worst dressed stars at Golden Globes
Leonardo DiCaprio has taken a leap forward in his quest for his first Oscar, with a Golden Globes win for his intense performance as a 19th century fur trapper in “The Revenant”.

Ricky Gervais lobbed his fair share of mean jokes at Hollywood’s elite on Sunday night at the Golden Globes, but he only had the kindest of words for David Bowie.
Feinberg explained that DiCaprio “has had the misfortune in the past of being great in years when other people were having their greatest year”.
“There are only 82 people from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association voting for the Golden Globes while 6,200 vote for the Oscars, and all of them are associated with the actual making of film”, Feinberg said.
The Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement honoree, often an emotional high point in the awards, also lacked a memorable moment.
Best Original Score was awarded to Ennio Morricone forThe Hateful Eight. “The Martian” did win best comedy film and best actor in a comedy for star Matt Damon.
Sylvester Stallone, who starred in Creed, was awarded Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture.
Instead, the Academy Award went to “Birdman”, directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, who is also behind “The Revenant”.
The Martian won Best Motion Picture in a Musical or Comedy in this year’s Golden Globe Awards.
Best actress went to Brie Larson, the breakout star of the captive mother-son drama “Room”.
But a win is a win, and although this awards season is far from predetermined, neither “The Martian” nor “The Revenant” were considered real frontrunners, especially against nominees like “Spotlight”, “Carol”, “Mad Max: Fury Road”, and “The Big Short”. “She’s amusing and hilarious and will win many things”.
Taraji P. Henson won Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series Drama for her hit series, Empire.
Rachel Bloom scored the honor for Best Actress in a Television Comedy for her work in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, while Lady Gaga accepted the trophy for Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for American Horror Story: Hotel. Best comedy series was a similar upset, with Amazon’s “Mozart in the Jungle”, winning over the HBO heavyweight “Veep”.
Wolf Hall won the award for Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.
Christian Slater took home the prize for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series, Limited Series or Movie for Mr. Robot, the show that garnered the title of Best Television Drama.
Mozart in the Jungle was named Best Television Comedy and its star Gael Garcia Bernal Best Actor in a Television Comedy at the Golden Globe Awards ceremony in Los Angeles Sunday night. Instead, the Globes had a particularly unraveled atmosphere that included Jonah Hill dressed as the bear from “The Revenant”, copious discussion of “Transparent” star Jeffrey Tambor’s male anatomy by Gervais, and much buzzing about Sean Penn’s escapade with Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.

Gervais’ snark aside, the Golden Globes have worked for years to shed an image of eccentric selections made by a group of little-known global journalists.
