In the first, terrifying trailer for the 2016 live-action film, the 24-foot tall BFG – played by British theatre actor Mark Rylance – spots the story’s young heroine Sophie watching him from her balcony at 3am then, frighteningly, pursues her inside grabbing the girl from her bed.

These are the captivating opening lines of the new trailer for Disney’s The BFG that will keep you in raptures. And next year, we can add another one to the list The BFG.

She can’t do it alone, however, and with the aid of a newfound buddy – the Big Friendly Giant – she follows a fantastical adventure that sees her crossing paths with the Queen of England. Jemaine Clement and Penelope Wilton also lend their talents to this film, and this will be 11-year-old Ruby Barnhill’s first film.

Filming for “The BFG” took the production team to Vancouver, Canada, in London and Buckingham Palace, at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire and on Scotland’s Isle of Skye.
