While we’re still amazed that Sheldon (Jim Parsons) even has friends that want to throw him a party given how mean he often is to them, it was super sweet to watch the gang try to put together the best party possible.
The seventeenth episode of the ninth season, “The Celebration Experimentation” has the gang preparing for Sheldon’s birthday despite his preference to keeping his special day very low-key. “Because that’s the kind of thing that just ruins a birthday party”.
Leonard (Johnny Galeck) gets West’s contact information from comic book store owner, Stuart (Kevin Sussman) and Adam West says yes, after the guys agree to pay him and provide transportation.

West: Oh, if you’re gonna factor in a sense of humor, then I should be at the top of the list.
In “The Celebration Experimentation”, Sheldon’s friends will think of a fun and creative way to surprise him on his special day. And Wil Wheaton is more than happy to oblige: “Sheldon, I know that we’ve had our ups and downs, but I can honestly say that my life is so much more interesting because you are in it. We may have met because you a fan of Star Trek, but I have become a fan of Sheldon Cooper”.
