While CBS has remained mum on who Merchant and Tipton will play, multiple reports that have surfaced following Tuesday, October 20’s episode nine taping indicate both will appear in the episode and play dates for Amy (Mayim Bialik) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons), respectively.

“The Big Bang Theory” brings on two new guest stars for Episode 9 that could be potential love interests for Sheldon and Amy. “The gang try and find a new boyfriend for Amy on a new mobile dating app”. That leads viewers to presume that Sheldon won’t be just picking up random women in a bar like he was attempting to do last week, and Amy might not be stuck with Sheldon’s colleague Barry Kripke.

In “The Big Bang Theory” season 9 episode promo, Sheldon is seen aware that the deal might go out of kilter and so instead of introducing himself with his real name, he instead says that his name is Skippy.
The Big Bang Theory airs Monday at 8 p.m. ET, before moving to its regular timeslot of Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on November.

The casting of Analeigh Tipton and Stephen Merchant in the show prompted fans to think that they may be the new love interests of Sheldon and Amy, although the show’s producers declined to confirm this rumor. The show will head back to Thursdays on November 5.
